Who Actually Gets This Benefit?

Limited eligibility – you need a specific Medicare Advantage plan offering:

  • Food credits ("flex cards," "Healthy Benefits+")

  • Coverage for chronic conditions (diabetes, heart disease, hypertension)

  • Dual Medicare/Medicaid status via D-SNP plans

Reality check: Most Medicare Advantage plans don't offer this. Always verify with your plan documents or a phone call.

  • Prepaid debit card or monthly credit ($50–$200 range)
